Snow is on the ground and the winter sports have started with a bang. With snow comes ice and on the ice is the Rills hockey team. After winning their division and being second seed in the state tournament, they are working harder this year to be better than ever. As assistant captain James Essery shares in an interview by Alexis Fernandes “We are giving it our all every practice, every game.” This goes to show how our hockey team will not back down, even after a rocky start.
That start however just made these boys stronger because they came out on top once again against the Mahwah Thunderbirds (someone please tell me what even is a Thunderbird). With a score of 3-2, and an honorable mention for Chase Lovell, from Indian Hills, who made 2 of the 3 goals in the second period. Someone who also deserves a shoutout is Andrew Bremer for having two assists on Lovell’s goals and showing immense leadership on and off the ice.
Rills hockey is just starting but they are already crushing it.
As always, Go Rams.
