Stormi Takes the World By Storm

Stormi Takes the World By Storm

As it turns out, Kylie Jenner was not faking her pregnancy just to get more publicity as the entire world assumed. I will admit, I was one of the many who was skeptical about all of these Kardashian-Jenner pregnancies popping up over the course of this year. First it was Kim’s surrogate announcement, then suddenly Kylie was pregnant, followed by Khloe. Or was it the other way around? Honestly, I have no idea, but that’s besides the point. Truth be told, I had my own wild theory about Kylie’s pregnancy.

Back in the good old days when Khloe Kardashian was married to Lamar Odom, she was unable to get pregnant, and a fertility doctor told her that she may never be able to have children. I fully believed that Kylie was pregnant, but no one had actually seen her over these last nine months. My thought process was this: Kylie would have the baby, but she would give it to Khloe because, honestly, what 20 year old with a makeup empire wants to raise a kid?

You could imagine my surprise when Kylie dropped the video “To Our Daughter” on her social media platforms shortly after giving birth. For those of you who did not watch the video, it chronicles Kylie’s journey over the nine months of her pregnancy, ending with the birth of her daughter on February 1, 2018 at 4:43 pm. Kylie had the baby with her boyfriend of less than a year Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster. Turns out, my theory was completely far-fetched (shocking, I know) and Kylie plans to raise the baby.

After the shocking pregnancy bombshell, fans were overcome with a new mystery: the baby’s name. Throughout the video, images of butterflies, are discreetly placed in the shots, from Kylie’s butterfly necklace to the butterfly decorations in the nursery. This, along with a not-so-subtle hint from everyone’s favorite momager Kris Jenner, convinced people that the baby’s name would have something to do with the word “butterfly,” many claiming that it was Mariposa, which is Spanish for “butterfly.” However, in what is now the most-liked picture on instagram, Kylie Jenner posted on February 3 that she and Travis had decided to name their daughter Stormi Webster. Many people, myself included, were initially confused. How does Stormi have anything to do with butterflies? Well, think of the butterfly effect, the idea that the flap of a butterfly’s wings in one part of the world can cause a storm in another part of the world. Furthermore, one of Travis’ singles on his latest album is entitled “Butterfly Effect.” Mind. Blown.

The world has not been able to stop talking about Stormi since February 1, and you can expect to hear a lot more about her in the years to come.
